Life Happens...Be Grateful - Nov 23, 2008

Gratitude always expresses itself!

This Thanksgiving some of you might find yourself not feeling like being thankful:

You are in a place where you don't want to be

The Bible says in the Psalm 50:14, 23 NIV

14: Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High,
23: He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."

It’s kind of odd to see the words thanksgiving and sacrifice are in the same sentence.

What is a sacrifice of Thanksgiving??
A sacrifice of thanksgiving is finding yourself in a (place or situation)
where you don't want to be and giving thanks anyway as an act of faith.

He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."

It could be that God is waiting for you to become content with where He has you ...because His waiting for you to find your delight in Him.
• He’s wanting you to find your joy and satisfaction in Him.

Questions To Ask Your Children
(also to ask yourself that help identify if one of the four enemies of the heart {Greed-Guilt-Anger-Jealousy} has attached itself to our hearts.

1. Is everything OK in your heart?

2. Are you mad at anybody?

3. Did anybody hurt your feelings?

4. Did anybody break a promise to you?

5. Is there anything that you need to tell me? (Asked from parent to child)

Or - Is there anything I need to tell my husband or wife?

6. Are you worried about anything?

7. Whose failure would you secretly celebrate?
